Join the Jewish Education & Identity Department for the Columbus Jewish Educators Opening Night Monday, September 20, at 5:30 PM.  Opening night will take place at the JCC New Albany, 150 E. Dublin Granville Road.  At the Opening Night Eran Rosenberg will be honored as the 2010 Jeff and Lori Lasday Jewish Educator of the Year and in partnership with JESNA he was also awarded the 2010 Grinspoon/Steinhardt Award (he received both at the Federation’s Annual Meeting in June).

The first ever College of Jewish Knowledge was a great success. With over 150 people enrolled, participants were able to experience a choice between over 15 presentations from OSU Professors, rabbis and community members. Classes ranged from studying the prayerbook, to mystics in Safed, to making mosaics, to starting book groups, to learning about contemporary Israel through TV shows.

On Sunday, June 6th, a group of community members representing parents, lay leaders, rabbis, and educators came together to take the next step of the WOW Columbus Jewish Supplementary Education project.  The Summit meeting was one of the final steps of the Discovery phase which focused on learning the needs and aspirations in our community for Jewish Supplementary Education. We also spent a significant amount of time launching into the Dream Phase which involves envisioning what we could have in Columbus.
